Data Access - JDBC

  • Query wizard
  • With traditional report tools, it can be difficult and time-consuming to write SQL queries. ReportJet's Query Wizard lets you create either simple or complex database queries by simply clicking your mouse! Now, you can build a query step-by-step, with options that range from choosing tables and fields to adding aggregated functions with GROUP BY and HAVING. If desired, you can also write your SQL query manually.

  • Query designer
  • Query designer is ReportJet's visual tool that lets you build complex queries faster and more easily. If your query includes multiple tables and links between them, we recommend that you use the Query Designer feature to help you visualize the query schema.

Report Design and Formatting - Visual Designer

  • "What you see is what you get" (WYSIWYG) visual report designer
  • ReportJet's WYSIWYG report designer is a significant advance over other report tools. It lets you quickly build the correct template for almost any type of professional report! ReportJet uses a high-precision graphic engine that reproduces visual elements with the highest possible fidelity, letting you compose and adjust these elements at will within your report.

  • Rich drag & drop capabilities
  • Many actions can be performed directly within your report template using our drag-and-drop feature. You can drag parameters, fields and variables from the Outline View directly into the report editor. Dropping them will automatically create the corresponding text field elements, letting you design your report more quickly and easily.

  • Customizable layout based on Eclipse IDE platform
  • ReportJet is integrated with Eclipse IDE, providing you with best features and options of this user-friendly platform. You can customize each of ReportJet Designer's layout elements with greater flexibility-and greater convenience. Move and resize any of the panels, customize your palette bar, and modify other interfaces.

  • Plug-ins based architecture for flexibility and integration

  • User-defined variables

  • Preview support
  • ReportJet lets you preview your report in a separate window at any point during the design of your report template. This feature lets you view your report results, and visually compare these with the template.

  • Unified Browser View
  • The unified browser view feature within ReportJet displays storage implementations for your report at a glance. Drag-and-Drop between storage areas is available as well.

  • Customizable palette
  • ReportJet's Template Design Palette has a wide variety of customization settings, letting you completely customize the appearance of your Designer. You can select your preference for settings that include:
    1. Palette layout options (Columns, List, Icons Only, Details);
    2. Palette's Icons size (small or large);
    3. Customize elements (add/remove elements, change name and hint of elements, hide elements);
    4. Settings (change the displayed font for element names, drawer options, and layout)

Report Design and Formatting - Report Template Layout and Design

  • Outline view
  • ReportJet's Outline View window displays the entire template (document) structure for a hierarchical grouping view. This allows faster navigation and quick access to elements within your report template.

  • Unified Properties Bar
  • This displays the properties view for a selected template's element. Using this, you can modify any settings for the selected element. For your convenience, all the settings are grouped by subject-matter.

  • Keys View
  • Keys view lets you view the assigned data source structure, user defined variables and parameters available for the current document. It shows all keys within a hierarchy tree. Each of the items within this hierarchy support ReportJet’s Drag-and-Drop feature.

  • Simple Grouping
  • Data within a report can be grouped by selected fields. For each of the defined groups both a group header section and group footer section of the template sheet are available and visual elements can be added within these sections. If you don't need one or any of these sections within your report, they can be hidden checking the appropriate section inside the Properties Bar. One of the main advantages of any grouping operation within ReportJet is that you can perform aggregated calculations such as SUM, AVERAGE, LOWEST, HIGHEST and others in the scope for the created group.

  • Advanced data grouping
  • AReport Jet’s advanced data grouping feature lets you add several simple groupings into your report. This feature allows you to build complicated reports and make them more readable and intelligent.

  • Ranged grouping
  • Any Date or Numeric data can be grouped by range within your report. For example, you can define a Quarter as every 3 months, and group the data within your report by Quarter.

  • Aggregate functions
  • ReportJet lets you calculate aggregations such as SUM, AVERAGE, HIGHEST, LOWEST and others with its Aggregate feature. Simply enter the variable or datafield for aggregation into the desired place in your template, and then select the desired function and scope and ReportJet will display the results within this area.

  • Sorting
  • Configuring the sorting for output data is simple with ReportJet. To do so, just drag-and-drop data from the Keys View into the Sorting window inside your report's Property page.

  • Conditional highlighting
  • Conditional highlighting is a highly useful feature for creating intelligent reports. Using it, you can change the color (background color or foreground color) for any element, dependent on the expression value you define for it. You can add several expressions to cover a variety of conditions within your report, and have them highlighted for easy reference and understanding.

  • Save and apply a style to any text elements
  • With ReportJet, you can create, save, remove, edit and apply styles to any text element or group of text elements within your report template. Font configurations (font name, size, etc.) can be completely customized for the element or group.

  • Various align and resize actions to layout report elements
  • ReportJet Designer lets you align, resize and adjust as separated elements just groups of selected elemets. These features save your time and help you create accurate, fine and powerful reports.
    1. Align (left, center, right, top, middle, bottom)
    2. Move and align inside a parent element (like a ban or table)
    3. Adjust size - match the height and width of selected figures

  • Snap to grid
  • ReportJet's snap-to-grid feature is helpful for faster and more accurate report design. When you move any visual elements within the report template area, the elements are fit to the grid points within that area. This helps you place visual elements more easily and accurately, and obtain an exact layout.

  • Snap to geometry
  • This feature lets you locate visual elements within your report template with geometric precision in relation to each other. If you drag an element on your report template close to any other element (any side of the element is on the vertical or horizontal line of the other element) a blue snap line will automatically appear, showing that the current element is fitted to the other.

  • Rulers support
  • ReportJet provides you with both horizontal and vertical rulers with different scales (units of measurement) to select from for more accurate report marking. Follow the ruler guidelines, using the supporting snap-to guidelines created, based on the measurement unit you selected.

  • Intuitive Context Menus
  • ReportJet features context menus for many of its visual elements. Simply right-click on an element to access the menu, which includes such functions as copy, cut, align and delete for text elements within your report.

  • Cut/Copy/Paste support
  • Any of the visual elements within your report can be copied, pasted or cut, just as they can within the Report Designer. For elements with aggregated values, the calculation scope will be automatically changed when using copy/cut/past between different scope areas.

  • Undo/Redo support
  • This well-known feature lets you reverse any actions or modifications you have created while building your report template without fear of damaging the template. If you have erroneously initiated a change, you can reverse it by clicking on this option.

    Charting

  • Charts on dynamic data
  • It is possible to place a chart within any section of your report with ReportJet. To create a chart based on the data for a specific page, place the chart within the page header or footer and define the dataset inside the properties view. To view your report based on document, column or any group data, place the chart inside the corresponding header or footer and define the dataset for it.

    Expressions Builder

  • Handy Expressions Builder
  • ReportJet's Expressions builder provides a convenient way of defining expressions within your report. You can use it to define any values based on data source elements, report parameters, defined variables and built-in variables. You can also create a statements definition using a wide range of built-in functions (such as math functions, date functions, string functions, etc.) with this feature.

    Different export formats

  • Reports export in PDF, XLS, CSV, XML, HTML formats
  • ReportJet can export reports in several popular formats: Adobe Acrobat (.pdf), HTML Page (.html), MS Excel (.xls), XML (with imbedded binary elements) and Comma Separated Values (.csv).

    Parameters

  • Report's input parameters
  • The ReportJet Designer can define input parameters for your report template. Parameters can be used in formulas for defining variables or in data source queries. When using this feature, it will automatically ask you to select the input values for your parameters before generating a report.
